Bangalore to Lakshadweep: The Direct Flight
Bangalore to Lakshadweep Flight
IndiGo flies nonstop from Bangalore to Agatti. The flight takes about 2 hours 15 minutes on a small ATR propeller plane. It doesn't fly every day, only specific days of the week.
This alters your planning approach. Make the travel dates around the flight dates first, then book the Lakshadweep package tour from Bangalore. Please let us know your dates and we will confirm them with our available flights before payment.
If the Nonstop Days Do Not Suit You
There are more flights from Kochi to Agatti every week. If the nonstop days do not match the Bangalore travellers' plans, many of them opt to fly Bangalore to Kochi and then Kochi to Agatti. Our Lakshadweep tour from Kochi is set up for that route.
Three Things to Know About Agatti Flights
- Small planes only: Agatti's runway is short, so only propeller planes land there.
- Less luggage: These small planes will have less space for bags than a regular flight. Before packing, check the limit on your ticket.
- Few flights a day: When a flight is cancelled, you typically wait a day, not an hour. Avoid making a same day connection onward from Bangalore to return.
Bangalore to Lakshadweep Distance
Agatti is 650 km away from Bangalore in a straight line. There is no road to the islands, so you either fly or travel to a port and take a ship.
By Ship
The government passenger ships go to the islands from Kochi, Beypore and Mangalore. They are booked on the IRCTC Lakshadweep website. This trip will last approximately 14-20 hours.
Ships do not run in the monsoon, and their dates change with the weather. If you want to go by sea, ask us, as it is a different package.
For the majority, the flight is the cheapest mode to get to Lakshadweep from Bangalore without any stopovers.

Day-by-Day Itinerary: Five Days on Agatti
Here is the day-by-day plan for your Lakshadweep package tour from Bangalore. The days are slow on purpose. This is a trip for the water, not for rushing about.
Your arrival is at midday. We meet you at the airport, take you to your resort, and serve lunch. Afternoon sightseeing on the island: the museum, the eastern and western jetties, the lagoon beach, the fish hatchery and the beach of Antham. View the sunset from the western jetty.
- Overnight: Agatti
- Lunch, Dinner
Visit the lagoon in the morning. Kayaking and snorkelling are free of charge. Extra charges for scuba diving and other rides are paid on the island. In the evening take the glass bottom boat to an empty little island nearby, called Kalpitti, for the coral and sunset.
- Overnight: Agatti
- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
No plan today. Swim, walk, sleep, or explore the island on a two-wheeler, which we can arrange on request. Additional items such as a beach dinner, campfire or cultural show are available at extra charge upon request.
- Overnight: Agatti
- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
A private boat takes you out to look for dolphins, then stops so you can snorkel over the reef. Dolphins are wild creatures and there is no guarantee that you will see them but the boat departs either way. Lunch is back at the resort, and the rest of the day is yours.
- Overnight: Agatti
- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we drop you at Agatti Airport for your flight back to Bangalore.
- Breakfast

Permit and ID
Everyone Needs a Permit
Every visitor to Lakshadweep needs an entry permit, Indians included. We apply for yours as part of the Lakshadweep package tour from Bangalore.
It Got Easier in May 2026
You don't need any local sponsor anymore, nor will you need a Police Clearance Certificate anymore. The Lakshadweep police conduct all these checks once you have applied. A lot of websites still talk about the old process; ignore them.
Your Permit Names Your Island
The permit specifies the islands where you can visit. Once there, you cannot add an additional island. This package is for Agatti, with the boat trip to Kalpitti.
What to Send Us
Send ahead the government photo ID and photo of each traveller, well in advance of the trip. We will give you a detailed list of requirements and processing time of the permit.
Foreign Visitors
Foreign nationals are allowed to visit but only certain islands and the checks take longer. When you contact us, let us know your nationality.
When to Go
The Season
Visit during October to mid-May. The best weather and the clearest water is in December to March. The monsoon period is from mid-May to September. These months are rough sea months, ships call in and water sports close.
Heat Is Not the Problem, Rain Is
Lakshadweep is warm throughout the year. The average temperature is approximately 28°C, while the warmest and coolest months are only two or three degrees different. What changes is the rain. Almost all of it falls between May and November, and June is the wettest month.

Agatti and the Islands Nearby
Agatti
A long narrow coral island with a shallow calm lagoon on one side. The shallow water makes it easy for the beginners to try snorkelling and kayaking.
Kalpitti
A small empty island off Agatti, reached by glass bottom boat. You head out for the coral and the sunset.
Islands This Package Does Not Cover
This Lakshadweep package tour from Bangalore does not include the islands of Kavaratti, Bangaram, Thinnakara, Kadmat, Kalpeni and Minicoy. They will require their own permit, and their own travel plan. For Bangaram or Kavaratti, our Bangaram and Kavaratti package is for you.

Food, Culture and Island Rules
Food
Mostly seafood with tuna, coconut and rice. There is no pork. Vegetarian meals can be made, but food is brought in by boat, so please inform us at booking time if anyone is vegetarian, Jain or has an allergy. It cannot be sorted out at dinner time.
Alcohol
Lakshadweep was dry for many years. A new law, the Lakshadweep Excise Regulation 2026, came into effect from 5th June 2026 and permits the sale of alcohol by licence. Whether your resort serves it depends on its licence, so ask us. Avoid bringing your own.
How to Behave
Agatti is home to a small community, and most people are Muslim. Dress modestly away from the beach. Please ask before taking photographs of individuals. Please do not stand or touch the coral and do not remove shells or coral from the reef.
Before You Pack
Cash
Limited ATM services on Agatti, and cards may not be accepted. Take enough cash from Bangalore.
Phone and Internet
Signal is not as strong and fast as it is on the mainland. Do not plan to work from the island.
Sun and Water
Few trees provide shade on the beach. Bring a hat, a rash guard and strong sunscreen. There is limited fresh water, so use sparingly.
What to Bring
- Water shoes for walking in the lagoon.
- A dry bag to keep your phone safe on boat days.
- All medicines that you require. No chemist is available to rely upon.
- Light, modest clothes for walking around the village.

Who This Trip Is For
Families
The lagoon is shallow and calm, and the days are easy. Children who can swim will love it. The group price is ideal for a family of four. Send everyone's ages with your enquiry.
Couples
Lakshadweep honeymoon packages from Bangalore are ideal for a couple without the crowd, quiet beaches and the same uninterrupted flight. If you are preparing for a couples' getaway and a beach dinner, our honeymoon package is created for you.
Older Travellers
Everything is optional and the water is calm. Just keep in mind the small plane, the boat trips and the limited medical help on the island.
Not the Right Trip If
You want nightlife, shopping or lots of restaurants. Or the date of your return stays fixed, as Agatti flights can be cancelled due to weather conditions. The Lakshadweep package tour from Bangalore is ideal for those who seek a tranquil and relaxed vacation on the beach.
