HOW TO REACH SPITI VALLEY ?
Spiti Valley is one of the remotest regions in Himachal Pradesh due to its high elevation. Although there might be some difficulties to easily access this destination for the remoteness, still with immense developed and well-connected roads both from Manali via Rohtang Pass and Kinnaur side you can smoothly reach this gorgeous valley.
However, for a perfect travel experience our customized Spiti valley 6 nights 7 days itinerary has designed different ways to reach this destination to suit different travel styles and preferences. So, ahead of making any choices go through the different ways to reach here.
Reach Spiti Valley By Air:-
Reaching this stunning land in the most comfortable and quickest way is through flight and you can book our Spiti valley 6 nights 7 days package. The Bhuntar Airport near Kullu (245 km away) is the closest airport to reach both of these valleys .
After landing at the airport, you have to go to Manali from Bhuntar and then there are plenty of options for a cab or bus from there to reach Lahaul and Spiti Valley. At the same time, if you're catching a flight from outside India, the nearest international airport to Lahaul & Spiti Valley is in Manali which is located at a distance of 495 km away.
Although a private car is the most comfortable way to continue your journey after the flight, there are plenty of buses to Reckong Peo and Manali from where the traveller has to board in a bus to Kaza which can be equally comfortable and luxurious based on your budget.
Reach Spiti Valley By Road:-
Feeling the cool mountain breeze while driving through the short trails can be equally thrilling and fun for the tourists. In fact, Spiti valley by road is considered one of the best ways to reach Lahaul and Spiti which will be a part of our Spiti valley 7 days package. With two roads that connect the district with the rest of Himachal Pradesh make the job easy for the travellers.
One route to reach is from Manali to Kaza in Spiti through Reckong Peo which is at a distance of 412 km taking 20 hours and the other route revolves through the same road from Manali to Keylong in Lahaul at 375 km taking 18 hours.
However, these roads remain closed for most of the year like 9 months due to heavy snowfall. Hence, if you're thinking of opting for this way, choose the travel according to the weather conditions. Also, booking a local driver will be better for your safety since the risky mountain trails are going to be different from the roads at the plains.
Reach Spiti valley by train:-
By train, you can get the combination of both comfort and adventure which isn't the case of the above two. Despite being not as fast as airways, still witnessing the beauty of surroundings while coming closer to the extravagant hill station can be a memory you'll cherish forever.
The Jogindernagar Railway Station (360 km away) and the Manali Railway Station (416 km away) are the closest to Lahaul & Spiti Valley. You book your train from the nearest railway station easily. Therefore, after the arrival take a cab or bus to your much-awaited destination.
Meanwhile, you can also choose Kalka Railway station (485 km away) for your Spiti valley tour package 6 nights 7 days, which might be more distant than the other two stations but has good connectivity with many parts of India.
To avoid any last minute booking hassles and get more reasonable prices especially during the peak season we suggest you should book the flight and train long ahead of the journey.
